We were delighted to welcome Marie Smith, Director of Planning and Growth and Penny Mills, Head of Planning at West Suffolk Council, who provided a detailed and useful presentation explaining the planning process, following which they answered questions raised by members of the public.

Should we be seeking a Judicial Review now?
It is not possible to seek a judicial review of a decision before it has been made. In terms of the Government’s decision to use the Urgent Crown Development process, the government has not yet published its formal decision on this and we have not seen their rationale. Without this information it is not possible consider a legal challenge. However, the Council will be keeping these matters under review.
Will the Council post its response to all residents?
Due to the extremely short timescales, this would not be the best way of communicating to residents. The Council’s response will be published online and we will work with the Parish Council to ensure residents of Barnham are kept informed.
